Fendi

Honestly, I know very little about the house of Fendi or its history, other than it started as a furrier in Rome and that Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi are a talented pair. So with that, I will just leave you with my favorites from a beautiful show.

Prada F/W 2010

On the subject of Prada, Miuccia showed her Fall/Winter collection today. With images of the beauty parlor throughout the set, the models walked the runway with towering beehives, wearing pieces that were an ode to a woman's body. The focal point of the collection was the breasts, with ruffled elements and naughty nipple-exaggerationing details saying "hello" to the viewer. With the appreciation of busty babes came bustier-than-normal babes down the runway, including Doutzen Kroes, Catherine McNeil, Lara Stone, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Miranda Kerr. That said, these women are still models and not an accurate reflection of all women. The interesting mix of knits and rubber, an accentuated waist, and lovely knit knee-high socks were also highlights in my mind. Miuccia always makes me want to buy socks, which I find absolutely strange. The designer simply deemed the collection revisions of classics from the nineties, though I find that too modest a statement. Sure, one could dismiss this collection as ugly, but I believe Miuccia's idea of what is "sexy" is absolutely enthralling. Katie Grand's comments on the collection perfectly sum it up.

"Big tits, high heels, beehive..."

"That's kind of some foxy woman that likes a cigar for breakfast."

"They all look like none of them have got knickers on, foxy, naughty women."

Prada is Perfection.

Fashionista posted the most beautiful video of a short film for Prada. I'm not sure what year it's from, but it isn't all that recent. The fashion world's intense adoration for Daria Werbowy can be made clear with this video, if you ever had any doubt that she was a force of nature.

Miuccia's genius never ceases to amaze me.

I have to say, it kept me busy for quite a while. Enjoy the leather, the dancing, the joy, and everything in between.

Candyland.

A Love Letter to London

Dearest London Fashion Week,

Thank you so very much for providing me with glorious eye candy over the past few days. I'm sorry I haven't been able to blog about the beautiful creations you have presented me, but I'm doing my best to be the nerd I've always pushed myself to be. I couldn't possibly do a post for each designer, so I've compiled a giant one with three of my favorite looks from my favorite designers of the week. Perhaps next year we will have a functional relationship.

With love,

Steven

I love a me bomber jacket and all the plush, feathery, furry business. It just makes me wanna touch. I'd go naked in the last look. Don't you think it would feel lovely?

Hanne Gaby Odiele, Joan Smalls, and Frida Gustavsson for Christopher Kane

Kane's girl is badder this season, with flowers included...? In any case, love it.

Vanessa Hegelmaier, Tati Cotliar, and Ksenia Kahnovich for Antonio Berardi

Berardi's collection wasn't very strong overall, but look at that lace!

I'm a bit obsessed with the two coats. I would kill to have either, but I think the first is my favorite.
I also love the swallow pint on the finale dress.

Ieva Laguna and Kelsey Van Mook for Marios Schwab

I've fallen in love with the way Marios cuts clothes. The first look had me breathless.
