On a day like today—an unfortunately disheartening one—
Breakfast at Tiffany's and another look at the F/W 2010 line of Chanel can bring a smile to my face. The latter is going to be the focus of my discussion, as I am far behind in posting on it.
Fantastic does not even begin to describe Karl Lagerfeld's latest collection for the fashion house. With the imported icebergs framing the runway, the models stomped through a layer of shallow water, appearing ready for winter. They might even have been ready for the next ice age. Without a doubt, this was Karl's comment on the environment, seeing as the Copenhagen conference just took place. And what a comment it was.
Faux fur was used widely, even appearing in the form of pants. From details to accessories—fur boots with ice block heels, ice cube bags—to the clothes themselves, the collection was genius. It certainly won't be deemed "wearable", though there are plenty of wearable pieces, but I just roll my eyes at the word. The lengthy show was a dream.
Surprisingly, Karl's gorgeous model muse Baptiste Giabiconi was not the only male model on the runway. I curious to know if that is significant. I don't want to stop seeing him. More importantly, feast your eyes.
