In case you don't know, I moved into my dorm at the University of Washington on Thursday. Since moving in, I've been meeting new people, attending events such as a showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and exploring my new found surroundings. I can't believe today is day 5. I feel like I've been here forever. Currently, I'm sitting up in bed in a dark room with two roommates sleeping and another whose been awake since much earlier this morning. I should really just get out of bed and do something...
So far I'm loving this new experience and hope that when classes come around tomorrow, that I'll still enjoy it. I also hope a routine will help facilitate more attention paid to my beloved blog. Prada was days ago and I still haven't written a thing about Miuccia's collection. Paris is quickly approaching (though I'm not exactly sure what day it starts), so it would be best to cover Milan fashion week quite soon. I apologize if that doesn't happen, but I've been living life outside my living space, which is truly exciting.

Luella
I fell in love with Luella Bartley's clothes when she showed her last Spring/Summer collection, which was a rebellious take on an English lady. It was the collection with which I discovered the brilliance that is Luella Bartley. For Fall/Winter 2009, she did more of a cool, British girl who dressed very rock n' roll. It seems Spring 2010 will be a bit similar to 2009 because it is much more girly than fall. At the same time, it was much more simple and polished than seasons before. I don't believe that Luella is losing her edge at all, I just think she is making it more subtle. The collection was a bit Sixties, and completely amazing. This is the reason I love Luella.
The first look, modeled by Frida Gustavsson perfectly displays the lady-like prettiness that will continue throughout the show. I love the color, the bow, the intense makeup, and the gorgeous lady bag.
Kamila Filipcikova looks as if she's wearing nothing but this cute round-collared coat and it works. The extreme contrast of colors and the shape of the coat itself make it almost innocent looking.
I adore this dress on Anna de Rijik. The cut-out and the pop art print are killing me. The blue eye shadow tops it off.
Recently, I've had trouble accepting polka dots as fashionable because I've seen polka dots done so poorly, but this look is absolutely lovely. The colors meld together nicely. The bow on the top give it that extra punch of kitsh that I love so much. Nicola Haffmans models.
I'm not sure why, but this sweetheart dress on Shu Pei Qin, may just be the cutest of it's kind. The color and shape are right on. I'm also loving the bag.
If I was a housewife, I'd wear this dress that Claudia Merikula is walking in. It's subdued, but sexy all at once. The print is gorgeous. Luella just knows how to get me.
This is another look where the polka dots work. It must be the size of them, or perhaps the mix of colors. Frida Gustavsson looks amazing in any case.

Matthew Williamson
Matthew Williamson is known as the King of Bohemia, always showing a collection of brightly-colored hippie-ish wear for all those it girls. This season was a bit of a departure for the British designer. He took to a more futuristic look, including a lot of metallic fabric and geometric embellishment. Dare I say it was a bit GaGa? In any case, it was still a lot of fun, so it girls, don't fret. Williamson made clothes you can party in.
Abbey Lee opened the show in a blazer and dress. The blazer is amazing, especially the odd mix of grey and tan, and the neckline on the dress is quite pretty.
Constance Jablonski walked next in an interesting blouse and shorts. I love the sleeves and the copper color of the shorts. The shoes are lovely too, with those bows. I favor them over the bootish style.
Karolin Wolter modeled a sparkly silver dress with a cool print. I'd really like to see it closer.
This top and skirt on Alyona Osmanova looks fabulous. The top is geometric and futuristic-looking, while the skirt is romantic. It's a cool contrast that works very well.
Laura Blokhina wears a super sexy suit with geometric embellishment. This looks very GaGa to me. I also like the boot-style shoes better now that they're in black.
Constance Jablonski modeled a beautiful printed dress with an interesting construction. Definitely an it girls favorite. I can see Lindsay wearing this.
Abbey Lee walked second-to-last in what may be my favorite look from the collection. The print is similar to the 2nd Constance look, but the dress itself is more sleek, except for the sleeves of course. They make me gush. I'd love to know what that material is. It's absolutely fantastic. The shoes look right with it too. A+.

Fresh Talent in London
Mark Fast and Mary Katrantzou were both recognized by style.com last season for both being recently-graduated Central St. Martins graduates-and talented ones at that. Other than that and talk that Fast may create a line for Topshop, I don't know that much about the two designers. I feel as though British designers don't get the recognition that French and Italian designers get here in the States. I'm not sure why, but it just doesn't seem to happen. A list of designers came up on style,com because their shows had been reviewed, but Fast and Katrantzou were the only names I recognized, and they are just getting on the scene. Perhaps I don't pay enough attention to London designers either... In any case, both Fast and Katrantzou put on great shows.
Fast decided to use a couple plus-sized models, along with "regular-sized" models, which will no doubt catch some attention. The collection itself was very sexy, with a lot of mesh and cut outs.
I'm not sure what to call the piece of jewelry hanging around this model, but I love this look. It's one of the more romantic pieces from the collection for sure. The shoes are also very hot.
This look is a bit of a marriage between the romantic and the sexy. I love the shell-like ruffles and the color pops quite nicely.
Here again is the interesting ruffle-like detail. It's probably my favorite part of this collection.
This model opened the show in a dress that I didn't like as much. This dress is definitely a show-stopper.
Here we are again, but in black. This may be my favorite look from the show. Absolutely gorgeous.
The skirt is amazing and so very glamorous. The cut outs are just right construction-wise, and as long as you don't bid them vulgar, they're quite beautiful.
Mary Katrantzou killed it last season with her debut collection inspired by perfume bottles. My favorite look was the opener, modeled by the lovely Jourdan Dunn, whom I'm so sad is off the runway this season.
This season, Katrantzou continued using digital prints for her dresses and played a lot more with construction. The prints were more abstract this time, but no less exciting. I'm not sure what to even say about these creations. They're so unique and so beautiful.

Phi
Last season, Phi produced some of the best leather, zipper-heavy clothes around. For Spring/Summer 2010, designer Andreas Melbostad lightened up. Just a bit. There was more white, but still loomed that rock n' roll vibe. He also dropped a lot of his hemline past the knee on a lot of the dresses. A bit strange to think about, since it was all about the mini for fall... Even so, it was an interesting show, full of pieces that all the cool New York dolls will grab in a second.

Proenza Schouler
This season at Proenza, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez had West Coast surfer/skater girls on the mind. This meant a more casual, relaxed style, as well as some green hair and bright tie-dye-esque party dresses. The boys also experimented a bit with a more sporty style. Their target audience, the pretty young cool thing, will be quite pleased by their creations.
Elsa Sylvan walks in a rather unconventional skirt. They boys experimented with the idea of tying your sweatshirt/jacket around your waist, and incorporated that look into their collection.
Suvi Koponen wears what might be the coolest track pants I've ever seen... I'll take a pair.
This bright aqua dress with perfectly messy construction looks amazing on Dainane Contero.
I adore this white shirtdress on Kim Noorda.
I'm loving the colors of this tank dress. The bag is hot too. Flo Gennaro models.
