Rag & Bone

It almost seems unfair that a new season of clothes for fall and winter are introduced as winter itself begins to wind down. Rag & Bone is one of the fashion brands that leads me to lust for an extended winter season, despite how unbearably cold I may be at the time. As usual, a highly layered aesthetic was utilized this season, providing a lot to look at and creating a look that is far from minimal. The inspiration for the collection, like the styling, takes seemingly unrelated pieces and effectively melds them into a look. Traces of Inuit culture, Scotland, and an unexpected sportiness gave rise to a tribe of impossibly cool girls from the future. In their patchworked tartan or perfectly shaggy outerwear (my favorite pieces), these girls do what they please, and it would be best to not stand in their way. Even so, I'm not sure I could resist gently removing one of the jackets right off their backs. The opener is a stunner, as is the dark, nubby beauty on Suvi Koponen. I would also happily expand my fairly extensive poncho collection with the look on Patricia van der Vliet. Just like their last Fall/Winter season, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville have concocted a skillfully jumbled collection that will have me entranced for some time.
