Lanvin

This season Alber Ebaz seems to be focused on a sleek silhouette, freeing himself of the rigid structure of his Fall collection. His work was exceedingly clean without attaining the label of minimal. Practical glamor was definitely a focus here. That's of course the reason for all the fabulous flats. The first section featured an impressive mixing of stretch fabrics and draping, though the latter never felt fussy. Several skirts highlighted a airy sense of movement, while dresses like that on Kendra Spears were quite composed. As a whole the collection was comprehensive, including usual daywear, suits, and even raincoats. Details like the leather harness on Frida Gustavsson, zippers, and the heavily embellished looks at the end made the point that Lanvin means power, though it seems something that even oozes out of Ebaz's most conventionally feminine pieces. The show was closed by 5 of the industry's top black models, making not only a powerful statement, but also a beautiful moment.
